Klara Brunhuber (Vice Chair)
With a background in medicine and health informatics, Klara has worked in medical and science publishing for over 30 years. She joined Elsevier Ltd in 2016 and leads its National Guideline Programs. Very early on in her career, she developed a passion for evidence-based medicine and has over the last two decades acquired extensive experience in the methodology and development of systematic reviews and clinical practice guidelines. She is a founding member of the EBRNetwork.
Tiziano Innocenti
Tiziano is the Director of the Research Methodology Unit at the GIMBE Foundation in Italy. He has a background in physiotherapy and holds a PhD in meta-research from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam in the Netherlands. Additionally, he serves on the Editorial Boards of the Journal of Clinical Epidemiology and BMJ Evidence-Based Medicine.
Miloslav Klugar
Miloslav is the director and co-founder of three international centers operating in the Czech Republic, namely the Czech Cochrane Center, the Czech JBI Center of Excellence, and the Czech GRADE Network. These centres and networks are part of the Methodological Center of the National Institute for Quality and Excellence in Healthcare (NIKEZ) at the Institute of Health Information and Statistics of the Czech Republic, established by the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic. He is also a senior researcher at the Faculty of Education of Palacký University and an adjunct associate professor of public health at the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences at the University of Adelaide in Australia.
Michaela Kosticova (Secretary)
Michaela is the head of the Institute of Social Medicine and Medical Ethics at the Faculty of Medicine, Comenius University in Bratislava, Slovakia. She is a medical doctor and an associate professor in hygiene, specializing in social medicine. Her teaching and research activities focus on the social determinants of health and the methodology of evidence-based research. She coordinated training schools in evidence-based research within the COST ACTION CA17117 EVBRES (Evidence-Based Research) initiative and other projects.
Hans Lund (Past Chair)
Hans is Professor at Section Evidence-Based Practice at Western Norway University of Applied Sciences. Since 1994 Hans Lund has been engaged in Evidence-Based Practice, use and production of systematic reviews and since 2012 engaged in the concept of Evidence-Based Research (EBR) by establishing the EBRNetwork and the COST Action “EVBRES” (From 2018 to 2023). Hans Lund’s research is focused on meta-research related to EBR and the development of the concept of EBR. Hans Lund is also engaged in Cochrane MSK Health & Pain Thematic Group as reviewer and author of Cochrane Reviews.
Karen A. Robinson (Chair)
Karen is Professor in the Department of Medicine at the Johns Hopkins University (JHU) School of Medicine (General Internal Medicine and Biomedical Informatics & Data Science) with joint appointments in the Departments of Epidemiology and Health Policy & Management at the Bloomberg School of Public Health and is Director of the JHU Evidence-based Practice Center. For more than 25 years she has conducted research on the use of evidence in making decisions and she coined the term “evidence-based research” in her dissertation reporting meta-research on use of prior research. She is a founding member of the EBRNetwork.
Bahar Taşdelen
Bahar has a PhD in Biometry from Ankara University and multiple publications in biostatistics and clinical sciences. Her core competencies include designing, conducting, and analyzing complex experiments in various fields of health sciences, using advanced statistical methods and software. Her mission is to advance the knowledge and practice of biometry and biostatistics, and to contribute to the development of innovative and evidence-based solutions for health problems. With more than 20 years of academic and research experience, Prof. Dr. Taşdelen is the Director of the Institute of Health Sciences and a professor at Department of Biostatistics and Medical Informatics in Mersin University, Türkiye.
Jennifer Yost (Treasurer)
Jenny is a Professor in the M. Louise Fitzpatrick College of Nursing, Villanova University, USA. Promoting the use of research evidence in decision-making, she utilizes her expertise in systematic review methodology and knowledge translation to promote international efforts to increase valuable research waste across all sectors. As a Senior Scientist Consultant with the American College of Physicians, Jenny also supports the development of recommendations based on the best available evidence to help clinicians deliver the best health care possible.
